Chapter 1: Lost & Found
Florian was terrified and alone, the noisy squawking of vividly coloured birds echoed around him, startling him with every vocalisation. He didn't know at all where he was, he had lost his pack completely and was lost all by himself in the huge rainforest. His blood froze when he heard rustling in some nearby bushes, and cowered as he waited for whatever was there to come out and eat him whole. However, what came out of the bushes, was another pup! Younger than him, too. He sighed in relief, and carefully approached the frightened ball of fur. She trembled with fear as he approached her, but he tried to give reassurance. "It's OK, I'm not going to hurt you. You're lost, just like me. Where are you from? What's your name?" he spoke softly. It took a moment for the younger pup to gather the courage to say something back, but when she did, it sounded like a squeak. "Violet. My name's Violet." and then her voice started to sound panicky "I don't know where I am, I just want to go home! I can't find my mummy anywhere, I don't know where everyone is!" she whimpered desperately.
