Biography
She wanted to explore the land to find a male to bring home so she could have her own pups someday so she set out to start searching. She hates wolves that are basic in coloration and lacks markings. She loves wolves that stand out among other wolves she likes to spend time with males getting to know them and if they don't meet her standards she turns them down. She hopes that her dream male is out there in the world. Landslide was exhausted. Her trek to find a dream mate was proving to be difficult. If only there was some wolf that fit her criteria! I mean handsome, funny, kind. Those things weren't too much to ask, were they? And yet every adolescent male she had seemed to encounter had been the opposite. Was she doing something wrong? She didn't have time to dwell on her thoughts. A flurry of fur crashed into her, knocking the wind out of her lungs. Landslide spluttered attempting to steady herself as she turned to face the threat. A wolf she estimated to be a couple of months older than she stood bristling, her lip curled into a cruel smile.
"Aw, what's wrong? Afraid to get your fur muddy?"
Landslide held back a sardonic remark as the scent of a territory marker flooded her nostrils. She was trespassing, if accidentally.
"That's enough, Rose. Leave her alone."
Landslide turned to face the mumbling voice. A pretty amber-coated wolf stepped out from the trees, her cool violet eyes scolding the wolf now known as Rose.
Rose's cold eyes narrowed, "She's on our territory, Lilac!"
Lilac sighed, "Does it really matter? She looks like a traveler. I don't think she meant any harm."
Rose growled, and with one last look at Landslide turned away.
Lilac looked at Landslide apologetically, "Sorry about that. Rose forgets that she's not old enough to defend our territory quite yet. Why don't you stay with us for the night? I'm sure you must be tired." Landslide accepted happily. She was tired, and besides there had to be some cute wolves here right? As Landslide trekked on, she would eventually meet another pack who went by the name The RidgeRunners. These wolves were peculiar, not just for their unique hunting and traveling style but for their wolves. Landslide noticed that a lot of them were female and rarely went past G2 in their family trees, and those who did were usually outcasted. The outcast part was especially apparent when she met a future traveler in the pack who went by Spud - a male G7 Piebald. When Landslide asked about why he was still in the pack, however, he responded with:
"Oh me? I'm going to be this pack's first traveler so I'm not really going to be in the pack for long per se. The only reason I was kept was for my mutation. If you're looking for a male wolf to spend time with, you'd be better off looking somewhere else seeing that you're Generation 11 in your family".
She could tell this 'Spud' guy was holding back a laugh when saying that last part, though Landslide just decided to just ignore it. While she knew she wasn't going to find any males here, she still welcomed the free food and amusement the pack provided. Yet, before long she would find herself going on her next adventure.
Landslide was making her way through the rainforest, till she saw a multi-coloured wolf ahead of her. He was gorgeous in her eyes, the different colours contrasting beautifully on his coat. He said his name was Exothermic. After explaining she was a traveller, he took her back to the pack, yet Landslide learnt that Exothermic had a mate already, called Dysnomia.
Whatever, he probably wasn't her type personality wise anyways. During her stay she rested beside a lake with other travellers, learning about where they went and getting some ideas of potential packs to head to next. Horizon, another male that somewhat suited her type, was sent to go hunting with her at one point.
Landslide didn't know how to feel about him, but he did admit he was also looking for a mate. They continued to hang out for the rest of her stay but soon Landslide figured she must move on, things just weren't working out with Horizon. Horizon was a little bit sad but understood, and maybe one day they would meet again in the future. Landslide said farewells to the pack then set out on her next journey.
Upon entering the Ftia pack, Landslide was greeted by an older wolf named Shinzu whom was the pack leader. She told him of her quest and he let out a chuckle. "Ah the young ones, so eager to find their mates. We have plenty of males here." He told her. "Though I'm not sure they'd meet your tastes."
She gave him a respectful nod as she turned to look towards the clearing of the pack, there had to be someone here amongst all of the other wolves right? She spotted a few hunters around her age but they were all so plain looking. She was about to succumb to the disappointment when she saw a brown and blue furred wolf sitting alone, he didn't seem too social. She decided to give it a try anyways, as she approached him she put on a small smile and greeted him. "Hello! I'm Landslide." She introduced herself.
The wolf, Nereus, perked up as she approached him and he gave a nervous smile. He spoke in a quiet, soft tone. He must've been a shy one. "Hello there Landslide, I'm Nereus. You must be a traveler right?" He asked. Landslide had a hopeful gleam in her eyes, he wasn't so bad. She sat beside him. "Yup! What role do you have?..." She asked, he didn't seem like a hunter. Nereus swallowed in embarrassment and looked away. "Oh uh, I don't have one yet. Shinzu is still trying to find a place for me..." He answered, his ears seemed to droop slightly.
Landslide's smile fell. "Oh... What about that scar there?" She asked, nodding her head to the scar on his shoulder. Nereus gave an embarrassed chuckle. "Oh uh, it's a stupid story..." When she continued to look at him with interest he cleared his throat. "I was attacked by a coyote when I was an adolescent, that's when Shinzu took me in." He told her. Landslide nodded slowly as she frowned. "It must've been scary." She sympathized.
The next evening Landslide saw Nereus sitting outside of the herbalists den licking a wound on his shoulder and she rushed over, "Nereus what happened?!" She asked, her tone laced with worry. Nereus gave her an embarrassed smile, "Oh I just got injured on my first hunt it's no big deal really." He said, trying to play it off. Landslide's eyes brightened, "You became a hunter? You don't look the type." She chuckled. Nereus gave her a shy smile, "I'm a stalker, nothing special." He told her. She gave a gentle lick to his cheek, "You're much more than that." She told him.
One evening during dusk, Landslide was leaving the pack without warning to continue her travels when she heard a voice, "Landslide? Where are you going?" Nereus asked around a grouse carcass he was carrying as he set it down at her paws. She flashed him a guilty look as she turned to face him, "Oh! Nereus..." She trailed off before clearing her throat, "I'm leaving to continue my travels." She told him, it wasn't the truth but it wasn't a lie. Nereus blinked as he had almost forgotten she was a traveler, "Oh, yeah..." He mumbled with a disappointed look on his face, "Well here, take this so you won't forget me." He said as he pulled out some grouse feathers and gently placed them behind her ear. Landslide gave him an affectionate lick before she turned and began padding away, Nereus watched her leave with a look of longing.
