Pyralis

Pyralis was once a halfblood – both goddess and mortal at once. While she was fathered by Alwyn and the byproduct of an affair with a Damar she-wolf, she never knew of his existence until she was approached in purgatory upon her early death by a goddess. Ametrine, the tall, pale Goddess of Death, had taken pity on her. This youthful adolescent with a newly torn face, who had been so eager to live – and yet dead before her life had even begun. In a stunning twist of fate, Pyralis was offered a gift so great it could never be declined: the chance to become a goddess herself and live an immortal life as Ametrine's student. To Ametrine's surprise, Pyralis wished to return to the land of the living as a mortal, if only to live out the rest of her natural life with her loved ones. Once Ametrine agreed to her terms, Pyralis returned to life, and lived out the rest of her days as Damar's first Soothsayer. Her legendary tale was spread far and wide, across thousands of miles and shared in all tongues, and lives on even a thousand years after her mortal death and immortal rebirth. Her bloodline gave rise to Soothsayers in nearly every earthly pack. When Pyralis returned to Wydr upon her natural death, she was raised to Godhood and gifted immortality, dutifully continuing to serve under Ametrine.

While every wolf is gifted free will, their ultimate destiny is a story written by Pyralis. While she can grant miracles, choose prophets, or sabotage mortal lives, she tends to be an empathetic but detached observer. Ultimately, a wolf has endless destinies they may fulfill – some that were originally destined for greatness could just as easily fall into notoriety. While she writes many potential narratives, the path leading to the end is a winding, forked road, and destinies are never as uncompromising as they seem. She whispers her tales to Pasus and Bhazec, and while Pasus dutifully recants her stories as she tells them, Bhazec tends to twist her prophecies to fit his own vision. Some say she must love Bhazec to not call for his revocation of Godhood, and her silence on the topic fuels endless debates -- especially when it comes to prying from the ever romantic Gadrin. It is rumored that her eyes glimmer expectantly when his name is mentioned, though she keeps her feelings carefully hidden from all visitors. When asked if he is her paramour, the truth is sometimes hinted at in the slight upturn of her lips.
