"I just need to work harder," Ondine grunted. She glanced across the clearing to where Evanthe was now headed. "It doesn't matter what she thinks. I can wish and wish that she'd like me, but what difference would that make? I'm a strong member of the pack, no matter what she thinks."
Alder's pelt prickled with discomfort, wishing he could agree with her statement. Doesn't it bother you too? he wanted to ask, but he kept his mouth shut. He dipped his head at her in a vague statement of response and turned away.
"Work harder..." he echoed.

Ondine is ever so hardworking and tolerant, but all that tolerance piles up
she is especially non-confrontational, choosing to set aside her issues for the sake of the greater good
she harbors a lot of frustrations and generally feels very disconnected from the older members of the pack
