Alice

Rested at her mom's belly, her siblings fur pressed up at her sides she felt comforted by the feeling of love and the warm smell of milk that she had so far learned. by birth she was always squirmy and adventuress she often got stuck in things no wolf thought she could get into.
a clear night, everyone in there den she squirmed away, a little to the entrance, not expecting the consequences. there was a faint rattle, fascinated by the sound and quite interested she moved her stubby little legs, nuzzling and feeling all around her. faint hissing and rattles stirred close to her. only when she paused that a painful bite sank into her fur. she let out a startled and painful squeal only more yelps and cries woke the pack. Alices mind felt groggy and dizzy. she desperately wanted to know what kept striking her, but she was just too young to open her eyes. growls and barks suddenly filled her ears. the loud noise making her shudder and yelp more. with a tug the snake was pulled away. with the snake still digging into her fur, skin and fur was pulled away. leaving a gored open wound. oozing with green puss. Alice's mind was spinning, she felt warmness but also throbbing pain in her. her cries filled the night air as her mother rushed to her side, nuzzling her. she felt poultice on her wound, but it only made it hurt worse which cause her to bark and yip. finally, she felt calm. a warm sensation crept upon her. numbness followed to it.
' it's likely she won't make it through the night. I'm sorry Keeper.' Alice heard her mother's cries and howls of grievance. ' There has to be something we can do, something that can help ' Keeper sniffled.
' There is something. . . something not far from here. a snake, a snake that sells a certain kind of jellyfish. a jellyfish that is said to make you immortal. only of a cost of gold cones. those are very hard to find. ' The herbalist sat there for a moment. ' In order to make you immortal is by eating the jellyfish.' said Oakly. ' Do you have gold cones? ' The keeper perked up, hope in her eyes. ' I have gold cones! ' Oakly smiled. Alice still wondered what he meant by all this jellyfish talk but the numbness was still down by her legs. ' I will set off tomorrow for the jellyfish. ' Oakly said, already gathering herbs he may need for his journey. ' I will be back by sundown tomorrow. ' The keeper layed by Alice's side. licking her forehead and nuzzling her. trying to bring some comfort to her daughter.
by the time Oakly came back . . . Alice was gone. her mother lay asleep next to her, grieving and howling every once and awhile. ' You were to late! ' She said angerly, as she stood up, and growled.
Oakly felt sympathy. Oakly dipped his head down, feeling sad for the keeper.
As Oakly thought for a moment. he realized what little he was taught about jellyfish.
He quickly brushed past the keeper, ignoring her protests and pleas.
he dropped the jelly fish down from his jaw. he carefully opened Alice's mouth. the faint smell of milk rushed over him, but the scent of death overpowered it.
He took the small jellyfish and dropped it in Alice's mouth.
it went down smoothly.
Alice still lay stiff.
The keeper pushed passed Oakly, demanding to know what on earth possessed him to do that.
Suddenly a ripple of air rushed through Alice.
Both the keeper and the herbalist turned their heads to Alice.
she was alive and bubbling with energy again.
