The Widowed: Outcast of the Galactic Ones

A young pup was born. Her fur is as dark as a deadly nightshade with goulish pale stripes on her legs, face and undersides. A dark blue nose and night colored skin contrasted the brilliant blue eyes the pup had. This oddball was born under a full moon, on the first snow of the season in November. The coldly lit forest of dead trees and dry Earth fit well with the gloomy month she was born in, and so did her dark fur. This pup wasn't supposed to be born at all, however. Not her or her four sisters. It was a grave mistake made by a mother who lacked better judgement.

She was born into a dangerous situation she had no idea she was in. She was born into a cold, harsh world that she was barely sheltered from. The den her mother had given birth in was barely large enough for her to fit in, let alone five newborn pups. It was cold. So very cold. The frost of the long nights threatened to creep up and snatch the pups constantly, so the mother couldn't even move from her spot. She had to keep her pups nestled against her as her body began to wither and decay, all while her newborns barely had a conscience to even know the warm body that gave them milk was their mother.

Only when the pup grows older will she come to grasp the situation her mother landed her and her siblings in.

How to be the perfect bride:

From a young age at just two months old, Black Widow was taught by a charming wolf known as Andromeda or "Lady Crimson". She would always tell Black Widow to hold her tongue and not to utter a word whenever she grew upset. Even wrinkling her face earned her a scorning from her teacher. The young pup was also taught how to walk with her head up, putting one paw in front of the other with each each step. By the time Widow was four months old, she walked with such elegance that even her teacher started to grow jealous. Once her first lesson of acting lady-like was finished, she was gifted a black Ruana wrap and stringy pearl bodywear at the end of the month (March).

A few days after reaching five months old, Lady Crimson would begin demonstrations on how to prepare food for the king. King Akuma wasn't particularly fond of raw foods, so he taught a small group of middle class wolves as well as his most trusted high ranks how to start a controlled fire. Because Widow was fated to be his bride, Andromeda would be given the greenlight to teach this to Widow instead of the king himself. Because it was early summer, they had to be careful when starting their fires.

From there, Widow would begin to experiment favoring cooked prey with various herbs and would eat the results herself. She found that garlic and cranberries went the best with almost any prey, especially turkey and swine. She even smoked prey like swines and birds to really bring out the flavor, which earned the king's favor when she had him try it. Needless to say, the king was impressed by her cooking skills. So much so that he made her his head chef, whatever that was.

Upon turning six months old, Black Widow was ready to join a hunting team as an apprentice. Although Andromeda was a pretty experienced huntress herself, Widow was entrusted to another skilled hunter who had mentored a few pups before her. That wolf was a legacy known as Bleached, and he was well known in the pack for being a cold blooded assassin. Any apprentice or close friend of his would tell an outsider that he was actually a nice, respectable young wolf who still shows remorse for taking the life of others. When Widow was spending her five months of apprenticeship under him, she became yet another wolf to vouche for Bleached.

When out hunting with Bleached as his party, Widow would watch from the sidelines to see how they worked together to wear down and eventually take down their prey. She wasn't allowed to actually join in just yet until she turned at least 11 months old. That was when a wolf was considered matured enough to hunt with a team. Still, she picked up on handy techniques for hunting larger prey or when hunting smaller ones. Though speed wasn't her strongsuit, she was agile, clever and strong. She often brought back prey as large as swine and boars for her tutor to eat, which he was thankful for. She still hunted prey on occasion for the king, but normally the high ranks were the ones to do that while she was responsible for cooking them.

By the end of her five month training, it was mid November and was a full fledge huntress. She didn't join any hunting teams yet, however. She remained as a solo hunter, much to the dismay of both Andromeda and Bleached.
