Born on a late April day, a litter of 4 pups would call their small cave den their home for the first month of life. Born in the forests of Slough Creek, one pup would be the average-sized of their litter. As the puppy grew and took their first walks of life out of the den, they would often be seen playing with their parents or laying around close to the den. They would meet their full pack, being made up of 14 adults and 1 yearlings. Other than them, there would be 3 other litters.
As the pup grew older, they often ran further from the pack. After faithfully watching their parents hunt animals such as elk spikes and young moose cows, they would have extreme interest in hunting as well. During this time, the pack would often have wonderful amounts of prey to eat with the pup nibbling at the end of hunts, not quite eating as much as the others.
Despite all this, they would go on their first hunt at 5 months old, being brought along by their pack to hunt. With the day being warm, the pack expected to have a easy hunt ahead of them. However, the pup would prove themselves during their hunt. Catching a adult mule deer doe with much help; there would be no injuries.Though still too young to leave, they are already becoming interested in what's beyond the pack borders.
