Biography
The night was beautiful, the aurora borealis dancing across the sky and painting the snow and ice around Kirari in all their colours. The first time, she had chased them, knowing well she could never catch them, until she was so tired she rolled down a hill and just stayed there on her back, watching the sky above her. She knew Fie would have chided her foor this puppy-like behaviour, but Fie wasn't here, so what could she do?
There wasn't even anyone here who could tell her. Kirari was alone at the end of the world, so far north that she hadn't smelled any other wolves in many days. The packs living on the glacier were secretive and their borders far apart. And still, Kirari kept going.
"When you stay here, in the safety of the pack, your name will always stay in the shadow of mine. Go and rise to be a legend on your own before you dare face me again. Only then will I allow you to take my place." Fie's words echoed inside her, reminding her how small and insiginficant she had felt when she stood before her legendary queen, telling her she had completed her training and proven herself worthy of taking the crown.
By now, the shock and humiliation had turned into anger. It might be true that Ailyn and Fie both had to prove themselves before being accepted as leaders, and that Ceallach always had been a placeholder, Kirari's guardian until she was ready to lead herself, but that was no reason to treat her like nothing, like an unworthy pup. Hand't Fie herself chosen Kirari from all the clan's pups to become her heir? Wasn't that a sign that she was already special?
But it didn't matter now. She'd find her adventure. She'd go where nobody else dared to go. When she returned, her name would be legend and there wouldn't be a single doubt left if she was ready. "I will be queen", she thought to herself, "But not like you. I don't need your blessing, I only need the power to destroy you. And I know where to find it"
