Eirich used to be her name. The proud and bold leader of the Pureblood Dynasty, Ghislaine captivated her subordinates and her rule was absolute and unquestioned. But the sands of time had more in store for the she-brute than a calm and pleasant rule over the pack. Some began to question her devotion to the age-old rules when she renounced her desire to have a litter, and instead named an outsider as her heir. 

It was her own huntress that took her eye. Tempête, a young and angry devout believer inspired an uprising against the dame, and it was her talons that permanently scarred Ghislaine's face. It was her mutiny that led Ghislaine to take her followers south to the Desert, and there name them the Dynasty Reborn.

It was the brute Princess of the Pyre who bestowed her the name upon seeing the empty, scarred socket where a brilliant yellow eye once shone. Initially meant as an insult, the old man croaked the name 'grizzled' at her, but Ghislaine thought it to fit better than her old surname, one that now meant as much as the dust between her paws.
