Walela- a dark wolf, with a muted cream underbelly and a similarly colored blaze- joined the pack as a yearling, when the pack was still called the Badahs, residing in the Mountains, under Juniper's rule.
He proved to be a very capable wolf the second he became scout. He was intelligent and confident, and softhearted with the pack, but wary- and occasionally a bit hostile- to outsiders.
He convinced Juniper to move the pack from the Mountains to the Deciduous Forest, where he met a friendly black she-wolf with bright blue eyes, just like his, and a dark gray underbelly.
She became scout soon after joining, and with them spending so much time together, they became friends. They were the best team, never once apart. Which is why it wasn't surprising at all, when they became mates and soon after, had a litter of two, a male pup and a female named Winona.
Once Winona was old enough for travel, Walela and Sequoia convinced Juniper to move the pack from the Deciduous Forest to the Tundra, and then later, to the Glacier, which is where his cloak of bright, snow-colored trophies came from.
When Walela was about five and a half years old, Juniper passed, leaving the pack to Walela, who renamed it to Elkpine Creek after the nearest creek. And not long after Juniper passed, some... strange things began. The pack was used to strange things- the strange lunar-centric dreams, the corrupted creatures with too many... eyes- too many mouths- and the cryptids- but... this was new. Well, new to the current pack. The Original Wolves, and the wolves before this pack had seen them before, but they had been long dead, their knowledge buried with them.
So, Walela and Sequoia were left to re-figure it all out on their own.
"It" being the missing wolves. The mystery began when Walela started seeing animals who should not be where they were. Leopards in the Glacier, short-furred racing dogs in the Tundra.... All having strange tales about what they were doing before being there, none of them sure just how they got there. Then, stumbled across a she-wolf named Maeve, who was on a search for her mate, Lowen. It progressed as Walela met more of Maeve's pack, gathering more and more information about the Faelcu, the... changelings.
A dark wolf, with a muted cream underbelly and a similarly colored blaze trots up to you, the cloak of white trophies tilts across his back with each step. He looks wary of your presence and a little aggressive; he's not quite growling, but he's staring you down and his posture is stiff.
He keeps his eyes on you as a smaller, even darker wolf gallops up beside him, skidding to a stop before she gives you a big grin. She has a similar trophy pelt, but this one is orangey and spotted, with a bit a much warmer tone.
"Hello," she says, tilting her head. She looks significantly less threatening than the wolf beside her.
"I'm Sequoia!" She looks over at the wolf and gives him a light nip and he finally breaks eye contact. "And this is my mate, Walela...."
She turns back to you and smiles, as Walela's demeanor softens a bit. "He's not usually mean, I promise."
"I'm sorry I wasn't the friendliest a moment ago.... Something weirdo's happening around here."
Sequoia sits down, leaning a bit on Walela. "We're looking for some food... wanna join us?"
