Biography
something wicked this way comes.
they always said not to come to this part of the forest. many tales of pups losing their sanity and returning to their packs a shell of their former selves had graced the ears of the young ones from your pack. it was just something the mentors told them to keep them from leaving the boundaries. but as you softly pawed your way through the dark mangrove forest, you find yourself surrounded by glowing wisps.
they dance around you, whimsical and odd. you find yourself entranced by them, turning your body to follow them. yellow - just like the eyes of the first pack leader.
the smell of fire causes you to freeze and as you do, the wisps follow suit. it's like time froze for a moment. you look around. everything had gone eerily quiet.
your ears perk atop your head, searching for the cause of the lack of noise. it proves to be in vain as the wind picks back up, whipping up fallen leaves from the detritus below your paws. it blows harder, ruffling the hair upon your back and causing you to shiver. when did it get so cold?
it begins to sound like whispers, surrounding you with voices from an unknown past that you know quite nothing about. your hackles raise, ears pinned down to your head as you swivel around to find the source of the commotion.
you come face to face with a pair of glowing eyes.
"are you scared, young one?" a voice asks. it sounds like it's coming at you from all directions, whispers of some forgotten name blowing through the branches of the surrounding trees.
scared? you?
yes.
you need not answer, the apparition continues on.
"fear not, young one. i am not foreboding. i am simply the eyes. i watch over these forests, standing vigil in the face of danger. i am the breeze you hear in the branches above. i am the small pebble under your paws. i am omnipotent and impotent all at once. i am inevitable."
their words are oddly calming.
you find yourself asking questions, mouth agape but no words coming out.
"you will have the answers you seek. but it is not time for you yet, young one. return to your roots, i will always be here."
the breeze calms, the wisps disappear. the smell of fire wanes, leaving the smell of a bonfire in it's wake. you find yourself calm - the words of the apparition having instilled some sort of peace within you. it is not time.
