emerging from the darkness came an ashen wolf, eyes gray as the stormy clouds above. the wind whipped through her fur and thick raindrops pelted down on her body. slowly, her eerie eyes scanned her surroundings, and seemingly satisfied, she lifted her chin to the swirling storm above and let out a victorious howl. this would be her home.

Tala slipped beside her, her expression slightly worried. the dark wolf had found the stranger in the night, wandering about on her own. the she-wolf had only given her name; Prosper, an odd name fitting for such an odd wolf. another howl echoed through the darkness, and Tala felt herself shiver, unsure of why she did so. a second wolf, eyes glinting in determination, stepped out from the treeline in front of them. Prosper grinned that unsettling, teeth-too-large smile, and the other wolf bared its teeth back.

"Prosper," she murmured, stepping forward and puffing out her chest. Tala stayed behind, watching the interaction with a wary eye.

"Solitude," replied the other, stooping into a deep bow. as they began to interact, Tala slipped away into the storm. something about those two rubbed her the wrong way, and she had aided a lot of packs before this one. as she left them to grow, one thought kept circling back, had she helped found another lost pack, like the one of old?

you awake in a dark cave, something slimy laying across your eyes. as you shake it off, you realize it's some sort of aquatic plant.

you venture out of the cave, blinking in the sudden brightness. you see the wolf from earlier, lounging regally upon a mossy rock. she's looking down upon her territory with a languid expression on her muzzle. at the sight of you, she grins, slinking down the slabs of stone, not unlike a cougar might, and approaches you.

"nice of you to join the land of the living again, newcomer," she purrs, flicking her tail at you. she doesn't seem bothered by your presence in the slightest.

"i am Prosper, the queen of this place. you gave my scouts quite a scare earlier. i trust you come with good intentions?"

you say that you were just looking for a place to stay for a while. her smile widens, and her whole demeanor shifts.

"ah, a Wandering One! come along, come along, allow me to escort you to our den," she says, turning. the gently glowing beads draped over her body jingle and clink together as she turns and lifts her head to the sky. letting out a strange clicking sound, you're startled to realize she's calling something.

sure enough, a creature swoops through the treetops, cawing roughly, and lands with a thump in front of you. it was a raven, with glowing eyes and naturally blue talons. you recognize it as the dreamland raven you saw earlier. prosper turns to you, grinning.

"this is flourish, my familiar. she'll guide you through the territory. flourish," she says, addressing the intelligent-looking creature. "show our guest around," she said, turning to you with a wink. "oh, and be sure you give them something to eat and drink. they must be exhausted from the trek here."
