Possessing a reserved and stoic nature even as a pup, Zero Shade was quiet but fiercely protective of his pack members. However, when several of his packmates conspired with a rival pack to overthrow the current alpha so that they could take over the territory on their own, his defiance against them nearly cost him his life. Forced out as a loner, he started wandering the lands with no solid purpose in mind.
During his wandering Zero Shade found an area that seemed to be unclaimed by any other packs, so he decided to settle there until the winter season passed. As he was returning back to his den one night, he found a strange young female collapsed in the snow on the verge of death. He carried her into his den and nursed her back to health, where her insistence to leave before she was healed left no dull nights. Eventually, their bickering turned to playful banter, and when the spring thaw finally came, both wolves decided to settle in the land that promised a new start for them both and the foundings of their pack.
