Birch chooses this wolf for his obvious strength. Bone, one of his more loyal and pack mates, had personally requested that he bring home hunters that were more compatible than Dusk.

Chrys chose his own name, a shortening of the word Chrysanthemum, his favorite flower. He doesn't remember his mother.
