Ever since birth, Hazel has demonstrated the same premonitions as Ophelia. Though that alone would not make him a leader, Hazel is also sensible, observant, and unexpectedly wise, if not a bit withdrawn and contemplative. Because of this, Ophelia has chosen her grandson as the next leader despite his inexperience. Hazel relies extensively on the guidance of older pack members and is often seen with Boreas and River when not performing his duties as leader.
