Salmon and his buddy Mush have always wanted to leave the pack together. As pups, they would try to sneak out of camp to adventure beyond the territory borders, despite the little success they ever had in doing so. This travelling idea continued all the way to adulthood and they had even started making plans together to have it come to fruition. However, after a particularly heated disagreement, they each left to start their journey on their own. Salmon misses his old friend but tries not to think about him too much, though with each new pack he visits he still has hope that he will come across Mush there and reunite.
