summer, year one

Bunting really admires Moss for her sense of duty. He thinks she's gentle and kind.

He also thinks she's really pretty, and when he finds out that Moss has decided to become a chaser, he really wants to join her. Unfortunately, Hazel beat Bunting to the last available chaser mentor; fox dung.

That's alright. Hazel meant no malice, and was apologetic when Bunting seemed crestfallen upon hearing the celebration. Besides, Hazel was aging up soon, and desperately needed to cram as much information as he could into his muzzle and chew. Bunting had more time. He'd wait until Beetle felt ready to train him, and then he'd become a part of Moss' hunting team. He really would!

fall, year one

Bunting has a feeling that Beetle won't feel confident in her training prowess before he's an adult, meaning he's not likely to make the party. Realizing this has him crestfallen, and he knows Moss is going to be such a good hunter... He worries she'll drift away from their friendship.
