Neeks thought, once, that he knew what that meant. But he'd gotten cocky, and his loved ones got hurt because of it. Now he's starting over somewhere new, trying to escape the wolf who had completely wiped out his prior pack-- all except for him. While he's a fantastic pack leader that everyone can rely on, he makes sure not to form deeper relationships. He knows that if he does, then it's only a matter of time before his newfound happiness gets taken away from him again.
Then, Plagg arrived.
Plagg barged into Neeks' life loudly and proudly, and while Neeks was originally annoyed by this being of pure chaos, he's found that he... appreciates him, now. He can't imagine running his pack without his friend by his side, even if a small part of him is terrified that Plagg, too, will be hurt in the end.
The wolf has not stopped searching, after all.
(A year or so after meeting each other, Plagg and Neeks become mates.)
