Old pack gone, wiped out by the enemy pack at the northern borders, Hiro trekked his way deep into the forest, splashing in and out of any rivers along the way to lose his scent. Two days he went on before finally succumbing to exhaustion and finding a small hollowed out root system under a giant oak tree where he could drift into a restless slumber.
His troubled sleep gave way to muffled whines that traveled through the forwst and reached the perked ears of a very charming she wolf who had been chased off by her alpha earlier that day. Interested by the whines, she cautiously made her way to the hollow where Hiro laid in troubled sleep.
The sight broke her heart, and with a wave of sympathy for him, she crawled down to join by his side and give him warmth. When he awoke, he found her next to him sleeping peacefully and a smile crept across his face. This was a new beginning and this would be their new home.
