A rather eccentric, and perhaps naïve older wolf, Rain has always been on the move, fascinated with the variety of herbs that would grow throughout the territories. Always more preoccupied with medicines and experimentation than leading or hunting, Rain found the prospect of following in his mother’s footsteps as leader rather daunting. Eventually, he had had enough, and he took off to explore. He eventually met, and became mates with a female wolf who shared his passions, although only a few of their pups survived to adulthood

Perhaps it was the loss of their other pups, or the constant lack of stability, but Rain’s happy-go-lucky nature began to fade, and he began to grow concerned, both for his own future, and his family’s. After his pups were grown and gone, and his mate passed unexpectedly,  Rain took off on his own. He left behind one son who had not left yet, and the younger brother he had recently reconnected with, heading off on a journey to find new meaning in his life.

He found that meaning with Mistkeeper, and the desperate band of exiled wolves she was now leading. As their herbalist, he could practice his craft as much as he wanted, but with an actual purpose to it, and with other wolves that depended on him. When his son and brother also found the pack later, he had the best of both worlds- he had his plants, he had his medicines, and he had a place to call home.
