~ It has been said that once every thousand years, a wolf with the power of the cosmos in its paws will rise to power. The last great leader was King Midas, now it is time for Queen Astra to rise. ~
Astra has been solitary for the majority of her life. Growing up, she heard whispers of a wolf with great power that was soon to be born, and she waited excitedly with the rest of her former pack to see just who this wolf would be.
It was a clear fall day, right before Astra was due to turn one year old that she was informed one of the packs youngest pups had gone missing, and since she was known as one of the best trackers in her pack, she was sent to locate and return the missing pup. However, once Astra came across this pup, she was startled to see the pup was being cornered by a massive black bear, nearly 3 times the size of Astra herself.
Without thinking, Astra leaped at the beast, knowing in her heart that if this were the moment she died, at least she would be saving another younger wolf that still had plenty of life left to live. She was surprised to realize that with only hit, the bear keeled over and passed away. Without recognizing her own strength, Astra had taken the massive bear down with just one fatal blow.
This act of strength terrified the young pup and he ran away in fear back towards where the pack resided. Astra followed him, making sure he remained safe on the journey home, but she had been too late. By the time she walked back into the camp the pack lived in, the pup had told the Alpha the entire story, and soon the whole pack had turned against her.
For Astra was in fact the prophesied wolf, and although just months prior her pack seemed honored at the prospect of the prophesied wolf to be in their ranks, they were now fearful of Astra and the power she held. The Alpha promptly exiled her, and Astra had to leave behind her parents, siblings, and friends and set out alone.
Astra traveled alone for many months after that, barely surviving as she could only capture small prey on her own, and prophesied wolf or not, she no longer had the protection of a pack of wolves that she was used to.
It was a cool summer day, two entire seasons since she'd last lived with another wolf, when Astra came across the territory she knew would be hers. It was a beautiful mountain landscape with plenty of areas to find prey and water, the herbs grew in abundance, and there was no outside threat of other packs around. Astra knew then, that this is where she was always meant to be.
Although now living in a territory she could happily call her own, it was still several weeks before Astra started to come across young wolves who would make promising members of her pack. The first two wolves she met and befriended were a brother and sister named Snow and Ice. After spending several days with them, Astra finally knew which name to give her pack.
Astra named her pack Andromeda, after her favorite constellation in the sky, and in order to honor both Astra and the stars, Snow and Ice changed their names to Arcturus and Lyra respectively.
From that moment on, Astra knew the destiny that she was meant to fulfill. It has now been several months since she first met Arcturus and Lyra and she has since welcomed new members and new life into her pack and she continues to strive to make her pack the best that there can be.
