Lightning decided to officially change her coat at 3 years, 5 months old. Not quite a mid-life crisis, but still... The pack hopes she doesn't up and change her appearance like that again--Reqqie almost murdered his own sister before he caught scent of her.
Lightning is a shape-changer. Born just before the first Coigreach, She quickly exhibited strange abilities. She was gone for long periods of time during the troubled time, causing worry amongst the pack. But she always returned with a sparkle in her eye and an airy attitude. What she did not tell them was the role she played in the events... Taking on her father's appearance, she did everything she could to resolve the matters--for her father was paranoid and delusional, completely ill-suited for handling such matters. Unable to take pups from the pack without blowing her secret, she refused to provide them--thus dooming Maeve's pups. Though she refuses to let on, that decision still haunts her.
Now she sticks closer to her home, playing pranks and greeting strangers. Often she takes on her brother's appearance, causing confusion among the ranks. She delights in greeting strangers (that somehow evade Requiem's wrath), though they do not typically see her as she truly is. Her appearance is ever shifting on her whims, and she likes pretending to be other pack members for a laugh. She usually chooses the grumpy ones, giving strangers a fright when the friendly pack member they had spoken with turns into someone decidedly more unpleasant.
When Mica returned one day without Reqqie, Lightning plunged into the woods to follow the trail. When she came upon her brother's body, she lay down nose to nose with him. He was so still, so lifeless... It frightened her. Why had he grown old? She felt as youthful and energetic as ever. She spent a long time waiting for his eyes to open... And an even longer time wandering through the woods in despair. It was the first of many losses she would face--her strange abilities have extended her lifetime, perhaps even to immortality.
It took a while, but she eventually returned to her pranks, though she never took on her brother's appearance again.
