Growing up during an extremely harsh winter, Adalet had the opportunity to watch as her Pack, her family starved- prey was unable to be found, and hunting parties returned with nothing consistently. While those in the nursery were fed what little food there was, just to be kept going, it was hard not to be hungry, not to notice to ribs poking through on most wolves... It became even harder to ignore the cold, especially after one of her siblings died.
She was still a pup herself when wolves started going missing, that same winter. While the Leader tried to calm the Pack, sending out patrols that would turn up nothing, the Healer was unable to commune with any spirits, Lunen or otherwise, leaving the Pack unable to tell if the wolves were alive or dead... The wolves were never found, their scents leading to nowhere. The Pack assumed them dead, Adalet included, but the event stuck with her, showing her how useless even the wolves leading them were, even in an emergency.
The odd-eyed pup is obviously a bit hesitant when it comes to authority- while we will obey her elders, there is little respect. She doesn't see them as above her, if anything, she sees them as equals, looking through the rank entirely. Why should it matter, in the end?
