Antara

As all things Antara was born of blood, pain, and darkness. Her mother abandoned her deep in the mountains after seeing the bloody coat of her daughter. She was found half starved by her father, a large dark wolf with the same bloody coat she inherited. He fed her, told her stories of his family, and taught her the importance of the stars and astral bodies. He called her Antara, after himself, and promised she would find greatness in her life.

The morning she turned a year old her father was gone. To her dismay Antara was alone again. She wandered the mountains hunting small rabbits before finding Hamal. A fellow orphan and her first friend. He taught her to hunt while she taught him wayfinding. Together they formed the Sinistra pack, a place for any wolf, no matter their background.

How heirs are chosen

Antara, as matriarch, has the following rules for picking the next pack leader

1) must have the mark of Antares (red mantle)
2) preferably female, a male heir may be chosen if necessary
3) must trained in strength and wisdom and have hunting apprenticeship
