I love hunting. The thrill of the chase, the satisfaction of the catch, and the pride in bringing home food for our pack. Our family. I'm so lucky I get to spend pretty much all day every day with my siblings. We hunt together, eat together, sleep together. Everything I do is with them. Sometimes it feels like Essex and Gneiss would like more alone time. I give it to them if they want, but I never want to be separated from my family. Or my pack. I know I fill an important role in the pack. I lead my Ore and Amphi as we chase down prey. We probably catch the most food out of anyone. It's not that the others are bad hunters; they're just inexperienced. They'll improve with time. The future chasers, Pegmatite and Dumortierite are coming along well. Since Labradorite's been stricter with training, they're going to come in with a leg up. The other hunting party's doing well, even with the addition of their new chaser, Gypsum, and the loss of their leader and brother, Onyx. I can't imagine losing Essex. But he's older than my littermates and I. Will we be left to hunt without him one day? I hope not. I've heard whispers about divisions growing within our pack. It hurts my heart to see us hiding things from one another. We're supposed to be one big family. What will we do if our family falls apart?
