Wicker

[Give me wisdom, give me teeth]

Wicker, King of Serpent's Keep, rose to power from the shadows. No wolf in the mountains had heard of him or his knight, November, before they turned up one day and declared a mountainside for themselves. Here, they settled into a cave system with giant, lofted ceilings and trailing tunnels deeper into the stone than most animals dared to venture. They named themselves Serpent's Keep, as it appeared as if a giant serpent had once bored through the stone to carve out such caverns.

To Wicker's surprise, he met another wolf living nearby named Echo. While she wasn't a threat to the life he was preparing for himself here, she was extremely annoying and he turned his back on her every time they encountered each other. However, she eventually won him over with her charm and humor, and he allowed her to join the pack as the first official member besides the two founders. Soon, the three of them became inseparable, so much so that Echo is often mistaken for being the King or the Knight of Serpent's Keep. 

Now, as a fully established pack with two promising hunters, Wicker felt as if Serpent's Keep was ready to face the world. His hunger for power and strength shone through as he added more and more land and wolves to his pack. After Echo, he met Archer, a diplomatic and seasoned wanderer who fit perfectly into the role of Scout for the pack. He met a lovely female named Clover, who began as a hunter within the pack until she fell pregnant with Wicker's pups. Wicker's daughters, Ghost and Ash, were born shortly after. This only made Wicker more determined to seek power for his pack, spurred by feelings of love and pride in the pack's youngest members.

When Wicker fell sick not long after he became a father, he sought the help of an herbalist. After giving her food and shelter within the pack for long enough to see to his recovery, however, she moved on again. This left an opening in the pack that Wicker sought to fill. He met a few wolves who expressed interest, some who were already skilled, some who showed quite a bit of promise. However, none stood out like Camellia. She already had a pack of her own, but it was plain to see her unhappiness. Yet, where else did she have to go? Compared to other wolves Wicker met, she lacked experience and raw talent, but when he saw the gentleness of her smile and the threat of starvation she faced should her pack eventually choose to chase her from their lands, he took her in. She repaid him with all of her energy and attention thrown into herbalism, always performing duties with a smile.

Once all pack roles had been filled and the impending survival of Serpent's Keep assured, Wicker turned his attention to the future. Along the way, he had found a few more hunters, namely Titan and Raven, who filled out the pack nicely and provided well. Serpent's Keep now had resources to spare now and enough power in their name to put themselves on the map. What Wicker saw the pack needed was young, fresh paws for the skilled pack members to teach. He wandered from pack to pack, searching for adolescents just itching to strike out on their own and make their own destinies. In quick succession, he brought Pine, Sparrow, Jayfeather, and Moose into Serpent's Keep. One by one, each outgrew the Young Ones' cave and blossomed into their new roles. 

By now, King Wicker had successfully claimed his throne at the top of a self-sufficient, noteworthy pack that grew stronger every day. While he was responsible for bringing almost every single new wolf into the pack, most wolves knew little about him. He disappeared often and for long periods of time to explore the territory on his own. When he was around, he was friendly and enjoyed cracking jokes and chatting with the other wolves, but he rarely shared anything about himself. The only wolf who seems particularly close to him, even after he had pups with Clover, is November. The two of them appear to be puphood friends, occasionally referencing times when "they were pups" and sharing inside jokes with each other. November herself is a little more open, socializing often with the pack and willingly swapping stories, but she doesn't disclose much about Wicker either.
