long ago when helena was just a wee pup, she had a dream. as the runt of her litter she was often teased by her bigger siblings, making her quiet and secretive. she dreamt of leading a pack of her own, one where everyone had a say and was important. as soon as she was old enough, she left her family and ventured into the deep forest she'd stared into as a pup.

in this forest she met a young wolf named freyja, who had recently lost her pack in cruel bout of sickness. freyja vowed to learn how to cure wounds and ails so she would never feel so powerless again... and so she could help. the two became inseparable after helena shared her dream with the other wolf. unable to have pups of their own, they grew their pack in other ways—offering a place for outcast and lonely wolves to find purpose. members often come and go, but the pack's goal stays the same. a haven for those who need it. a safe den to call home.

small and lean, helena may not look much like a leader. but she is smart enough to know that she is underestimated and uses that to her advantage. the wolf chooses to follow her head over her heart, and struggles to confide in others. she would rather she be weighed down by the burdens of a pack then have others worry about it too. freyja was the first to gain her trust, and has convinced her that a good leader lets others share the responsibilities. still, she struggles with overworking herself, and isn't the most outwardly friendly to wolves that don't know her peculiarities. she gets along best with her other stoic packmates, especially sleet, who she sees as sort of a brother.
