Sentinel

Sentinel was found as a young pup by Oliver and Mud. The two male loners took him in and gave him the name Sentinel because he was curious and constantly on the look out for danger. Growing up, Sentinel had no littermates and was taught many skills by the wolves who took him in. He learned to hunt and track which he became very experienced at. Sentinel was quite content with life.

That soon changed, however, as Oliver and Mud claimed a pack for themselves. Oliver, the commanding sibling of the two became alpha and put strict rules into place. He allowed Sentinel to stay, but only if he followed his every order and eat only the bones left by carcasses. This made Sentinel confused and angry, yet it instilled a feeling hidden within him. He was several moons old and was capable of going out to start his own pack, so that's exactly what he did.

Sentinel knew exactly where he wanted to go. Mud would often tell tales of mountains covered in snow and prey abundant as far as the eye could see. Several moons into his journey, Sentinel was nearly there but something was missing. He felt lonely. He hadn't seen a wolf in moons but he occasionally heard a howl or two from wandering males. As if some sort of miracle, he saw a wolf in the distance.

He ran towards the wolf but only to find a stump shaped like one. He must be going crazy, the moons spent alone taking its toll on him. Sentinel wasn't used to having nobody. He missed the comfort of fur next to his, the warmth and serenity he craved. A rabbit ran by and interrupted his thoughts. He chased after it but only to tumble and fall straight first into the snow. The rabbit got away, or so he thought.

Suddenly, a loud squeak came from in front of him. A wolf had caught it. Sentinel looked up and was met with the most stunning sight he had ever seen. A female with dazzling blue eyes and white fur that faded into black. Or was it the other way around?.. Either way, Sentinel was immediately captivated by this wolf, and by the looks of it she felt the same way about him.

He learned her name was Pawprint, or Print for short. She was a lone female looking for a mate and came to the mountains. It was perfect. He had everything he wanted, but now he must protect it all. Together they decided to call their pack Monochrome, after their colors and the area they loved.
