The High Queen of Mánagarmr

For years, Máni has searched for a place to call home-- to call hers. She wanted to make a name for herself but everything she did burned and turned to ash, until one Fall. Our dear Máni traveled for miles, her youth slowly etching itself dry but the she-wolf not once stopped. Her eyes held a sense of dedication. During her month's trek, she met a wolf. His eyes held a tone of fury but not at her-- his stature was of one that led a pack but looking before her, she saw none. He carried himself with pride and dominance; his head and tail held high and he didn't seem to be the type to break eye contact. Máni asked for his name. At first, he ignored her, he was on his own journey. She asked again and this time stood in front of him. Her tail lifted as if she was challenging him. The male took her stance as a threat and naturally, he didn't waste time to bare his canines and charge her.

"WOAH! Wait! I don't want to fight!" her voice broke as she jumped out of his way, "calm down! I just wanted to know your name!" her yellow eyes stared frantically at him. Her heart raced, her body pumped adrenaline all throughout, "I don't want to fight..." her voiced muttered out calmly. The male snorted and gave her a glare, "don't ever raise your tail at me again if you don't seek a fight." his voice was low and rough with a hint of annoyance. Máni looked away. The male huffed out a sigh and approached the female with gentle steps-- quite rare for the male to do-- "my name is Hati Hróðvitnisson. I prefer Hati as my surname serves as a title for leadership." he spoke with such eloquence that it almost surprised the she-wolf. Máni looked at him with a curious gleam. "My name is Máni, unlike you I don't have a surname built for leadership," her chuckle was quiet but playful, "are you searching for something Hati?"

The male gave her a questioning look. A moment or two passed before he nodded. "A pack of my own and a place to rule of my own until my time comes." once he said those words Máni perked up. "A pack? I'm searching for a pack too! We could join together." her eyes beamed brightly as she offered a proposal. Hati on the other hand didn't like it. "I'm looking for warriors not wolves like you. Your happiness annoys me." and with that, he turned and walked away. Máni lowered her head and sighed. The only wolf she found rejected her. She sat there and pondered, was she gonna take that? Was she gonna take his unjust attitude? Shaking her head and growling, the she-wolf bolted after him and tackled him. Her paws pinned him to the ground, her canines nearing his face. "I'm Máni. Daughter to two unruly leaders who worship the Moon. I demand respect and I demand you take my offer. I didn't travel miles for nothing, Hati." her yellow orbs held the same anger as his. Hati pushed her off and ran her into the ground, his teeth digging into her neck. He ripped through her flesh and fur, her own blood dripping from his mouth and down her side. "You think I take orders from a lonely she-wolf? I lived on my own for years. I lost my innocence and only have my drive to take revenge on those who wronged me-- and let me tell you, your blood taste sweet my dear Máni." he licked his maw cleaned and laughed hoarsely, "you don't want to stick with someone like me--" Hati was cut off by Máni, "but I do! We're both on the same journey! Rule with me Hati..." she stood up and neared the male, she leaned her body into his and pressed her head against his throat, "you're searching for wolves and now you found one. Let me join you."

Ever so softly, Hati breathed the female's scent in. She smelt sweet. Like a flower that was born on a mountain; protected from anything that could harm her. He closed his eyes and rested his head on her. "I'll take you as my Queen. We're equals, you are to be my mate for life and make decisions together." his voice was low again, but soft. Máni looked at him and nodded, "of course." her heart fluttered with the newfound relationship, "should we find home?" her question woke Hati from his trance. The two wandered off, in search for a home and possibly more companions.
