Dione

As Fleur and her handmaidens sweep by, Dione breaks away from the group to study you. Her fur is unusually long and thick for a timber wolf, giving her an almost-exotic appearance next to her peers.

"I am Dione," she says with a dip of her head. Her voice is deep and rich. "One of Lady Fleur's huntresses. You're new around here, aren't you?"

She glances you up and down. She doesn't seem to expect a reply. You wonder why for a moment - maybe she's blunt. Or maybe she's just a fellow traveller who understands what ought not be said.

"We were just about to mark the border," she says. "Why not join us so I can show you around?" She lifts her tail invitingly and you slip in beside her.

The handmaidens aren't just slim snouts and glossy fur; they're bodyguards, co-huntresses and watchful eyes in the woods. Although Dione can be charming, taking you under her wing was no act of kindness; over the next few days, she'll be watching you carefully for any sign of trouble.
