A fierce leader and an understanding friend, Ragnar is the very example of what he feels an Alpha should be. He founded his pack with his mate Lagertha and has fought so hard to keep his pack alive.
His father told him he could never be a leader, as common wolves would never amount to anything, and that was right where he fit in. His older brother was a great fighter and was the best scout in their pack, his father was second in command to the Alpha, but Ragnar was quiet, almost unassuming, and never excelled at hunting or scouting.
Eventually, the time came for the Alpha's cruel monthly sport: The Tournament. Wolves without roles who were between the ages of 6 months and 2 years old were selected at random to compete in a bloody game of survival. Lose three battles, and you're exiled, regardless of the seriousness of your wounds. Win the final battle with the second-in-command, and you enter training to become an Elite, the highest honor possible for a wolf.
At 6 months old, Ragnar was forced into the Tournament and lost almost instantly. He was sure the whole thing had been rigged against him as he'd gone up against three of the best trainees in the pack, and he knew his father was the one who chose the battle pairings. So, injured and utterly defeated, he left behind the pack who'd all but broken him.
Time passed, Ragnar grew stronger, and eventually started his own pack, having met Lagertha and fallen in love with the beautiful warrior who accepted him for who he was. Now, he's the leader of a wonderful pack, raising the pups to follow the path of morality and truth.
