Ajuga, or Bugleweed, is a ground cover plant that originated in Europe, parts of Africa, and parts of South East Asia, and is actually considered an invasive species in the Americas. This plant typically gets to 4-8 in. tall (10-20 cm), with a blooming season of mid-to-late spring. It is a hardy plant, able to be grown in most areas that aren't too hot, cooler temperatures and shaded areas more accepted for this plant. The leaves of this plant can range in color, either a usual green, an unusual bronze, or even a purple tone.
The viewers of the rosettes form a blue-violet, purple, pink, or white display, but the blue-violet-to-purple coloration, with the intriguing colors of its leaves, is why this plant was chosen as the name for this wolf.
