Melon is possibly one of the unluckiest wolves in the pack. Wherever he goes, misfortune seems to follow him. As a pup, he got caught in a snare thought to be disarmed- a snare that two other pups passed through unharmed before he followed. Every time he leaves the camp to get fresh air, even if it's just a short distance, he manages to get a thorn in his paw, or a burr in his pelt. Whenever he goes to lay on a sunny rock, rain clouds appear. The wind always manages to blow dust in his eyes.
It's no wonder that Melon always expects the worst. Other wolves call him a pessimist. "Oh that Melon! He's such a downer", is often spoken between wolves who see Melon pass by.
The only wolf who doesn't mock Melon's overly-cautious view on life is Hush. She never says anything bad about him. In fact, she almost never says anything at all. Her silence is why he invites her out at night, nearly every night, to play. For some reason unknown to Melon, when he's with her, his bad luck seems to wane- and although it never fully disappears, he seems to avoid the worst incidents.
At their fifth outing together, she finally spoke her first words to him. "You're funny," she had said, as he tripped over a root.
Melon was okay with being funny.
Melon intends on becoming a pupsitter.
Pack interactions:
Melon gives you a tired smile before launching into their usual complaints. They suddenly stop to show you something among their belongings and offer it to you. They don't want it, so it's yours now. (Owl talon)
As usual, every time you think you've had a bad day, Melon proves it's not so bad. According to them, theirs is always worse and they're ready to describe in detail exactly why.
