--Young Pup(5ROY-- Woah; this pack isn't as big as my old one, but there are a lot of strange wolves here for a young pup; why were most of them in dens?... Don't they have like...jobs or something? Rain—a little girl puppy I ran into who followed me like a dog to my new pack—says that maybe they're trying to be extra careful and keep the pups and young puppies safe. Safe from what!? Last I checked, they were doing pretty fine to me.
( 7ROY) Most of the puppies here all suck—no one really wants to play with me! So what of I called their games stupid—they are! They're all so...boring. They're a puppy here with a coat kind of like Rain's who's decent enough, I guess; she's really clumsy, but she must have a brain somewhere under all that fur, because she...she listens to me; she doesn't mind playing with me.
Ughhh; I... I know how important helping the pupsitters is; I've been in this pack...long enough for it to be winter, and we've lost a few newborns. I just... I was hoping for something more than pupsitting, y'know? Surefoot agrees—well; she didn't outright agree, but she made an agreeable noise, so that totally counts as agreeing!
I... I'm about to go on my name hunt; Surefoot went on hers a little while ago, but... she's always had her name; I'm about to get mine.
My... my name is Rivershade! I love it! (More importantly, Surefoot thinks it's pretty;)) I'm to go on my first hunt for the pack; Stormtrick told me she wanted to try assessment a party of wolves who can hunt by themselves, so they'll still be able to catch food—even if they have nesting members. I... it's pretty ambitious; I think I want to join them instead of hunting with others—not that I mind hunting with others... depending on who it is; I just... imagine how powerful I could be if I learned to take down game by myself!
I made my first kill! On my first try—if I do say so myself; I... I remember the first time Surefoot and I had our first actual talk; it'd been a sh-tty day for us—both of us ended up throwing the hunt. She uh... we'd been splitting an opossum when she uh... I don't know, just the way she takes in the world —the way she talked to me... It made me actually want to help, I guess.
Things are actually going pretty well for my hunts; most of the wolves in my party can suck an skunk tail, but we hunt by ourselves, so I don't have to deal with them too much. Things are... weird with me and Surefoot, though.. I'm not sure what to do about that. It was wonderful running into Rogue again thought. Stars, I have so many apologies to make to the wolves in my birth pack—I was such a little... whatever; maybe I'll take Rouge up on her offer to visit.
One of my sons has asked to come with me to Father's pack; Surefoot's worried, but I don't see the harm—he's a smart boy; so long as he listens well he should be fine.
