Branch ambled through the Enclave, in search of a suitable mate for Inkling. Inkling, being a youth, did not yet care for such things. Branch and Dapple knew it was important to have lifelong companions and so, they located Jaqi. Jaqi looked promising: inquisitive, but respectful and quick to do what was needed.

Jaqi quickly grew close to Branch and Dapple's blood offspring, Twig. If observing, anyone could see the two were proper siblings. They couldn't abide by each other until they could, which was usually when someone else was picking fights with them. Of course. As they matured, the two wolves had no issues sharing and often cooperated to solve pack disputes.

Twig and Jaqi remained close, particularly out of necessitated proximity: there were always disputes of some kind to settle. Twig always did her best to understand Jaqi's affection for Inkling - Twig was not the romantic sort. Jaqi also appreciated her working relationship with her hunting team: Arc, Cross, Boop and Erda - and later Olgua and Egerda.
