The Beginning

Dragonfly never thought she'd end up leading the pack. Sure, she'd alway been friendly; always helped out any wolves she came across who asked and looked like they needed it. But she'd roamed alone, that first year of her life.

And then she met Willow.

That gentle wolf, so fussy and yet so kind. She was the first one to help Dragonfly - a reversal of the usual role, for once. Willow taught her that to be around others, around pack, was so much more rewarding and wonderful than anything she had experienced while living alone.

And then Tala. Wise one, so willing to help Dragonfly with her fledgling pack, with the bits and pieces that floated in, seeking refuge. Those faces, so grateful to be included, brought light to her days.

She could get used to this.
