Niece of leader Menon Scalewing, cousin of herbalist Callisto Windsurge.

Menon's decision to make Ganymede his heir rather than any of his children caused a minor upset in the pack. After Menon's passing, a few of his children abandoned the pack - taking friends, mates, and pups with them. The pack's already declining numbers were nearly halved. However, young Ganymede was not discouraged, seeing this as a new start for the Chinquapin Pack.

The beginning of winter in Year 25 brought new troubles to the pack. The hunting parties reported strange animals roaming the territory; the pack's herbalist Callisto returned from foraging trips with unfamiliar herbs; the pupsitters whispered about the cries of puppies who couldn't be found.

Ganymede, eager to sniff out the source of these disturbances, bumped into several lost wolves displaced from their homes before bumping into Maeve of the Chaorainn Pack.

The events of Coigreach shook Ganymede, and for a time she stayed close to the pack's main territory, the coniferous forest, rather than wander as she used to do. Her confidence couldn't be smothered for long, though, and soon Ganymede sent her scouts out and followed them farther than ever before.
