Every god and goddess watched her closely, knowing what would happen to her over the years; some were amused, others were full of anger knowing what was to come, and others grieved for her.

Nuwa walked through a dense forest with flowers scattered everywhere. She was at peace, enjoying every second of being alive. She walked into thick bushes that slowly started opening up into a large clearing, where many wolves roamed. As she walked past them, they all greeted her with a smile. She smiled at everyone she passed as she made her way to a stream. She saw a white wolf laying next to the stream and smiled. She ran towards him and pushed him into the stream. The white wolf yelped as he fell into the stream and Nuwa laughed.

"Who- Nuwa! Where have you been?" the white wolf shouted, lifting himself from the stream. Nuwa smiled at him as he shook himself dry and walked towards her.

The white wolf, Nas, was Nuwa's best friend. They grew up together and were inseparable. Nas would always save Nuwa from trouble and Nuwa would always give him gifts or show him breathtaking spots she would find when she snuck away from home.

"Nas, I want to take you somewhere." Nuwa said, getting super close to Nas' face. Nas looked down at her and slightly frowned.

"We can't be sneaking away from the pack when we're at war. Especially you. There are some maniacs out there that want to see you hurt and there are others that want you dead."

Nuwa frowned. She hated violence. She'd do anything to get rid of all the violence in the world. Her pack and a neighboring pack had gotten into countless fights over territory for many generations. The neighboring pack declared war and threatened to kill Nuwa over some territory. Nuwa's adoptive father, the alpha, became livid and threatened to kill everyone from the neighboring pack.

"Nuwa, please don't frown. You know I hate seeing you upset," Nas said, trying to get Nuwa to look at him, "We can go once this is all over."

"Why do they want me dead.." Nuwa murmured, lowering her gaze. She couldn't understand why many wanted her dead over some territory. Had she done something to them? Nas could tell Nuwa was about to cry.

"Nuwa, my love, please don't cry. If anyone tries to hurt you, I'd kill them before they can get anywhere near you. I promise to protect you."

Nuwa looked at Nas and gave him a small smile. As long as she had him, she'd be the happiest being alive.

It was a dark, still night. Nuwa couldn't sleep that night, so she snuck away from the pack and decided to go on a 10 minute walk. She walked far until she came across a small clearing with a tree in the middle. She walked towards the tree and decided to lay up against it. She looked up at the sky and smiled. She loved peaceful nights like these.

"Nuwa."

Nuwa quickly turned her head and saw Nas appear. He looked like a ghost with the moonlight shining on his white fur. Nuwa stared, she couldn't take her eyes off of Nas.

"Stop staring, you're being weird," Nas jokingly said, walking towards Nuwa.

"You looked breathtaking for a second. I think I would've fallen in love if I stared any longer," Nuwa teased, making space for Nas to lay beside her.

Nas laughed as he lay beside Nuwa. They stayed close to each other for warmth and watched the stars dance in the sky.

"You shouldn't have snuck out on your own. What if something happened?" Nas said, still looking at the stars.

Nuwa looked at Nas and could tell he wanted to say more. She looked down at a flower in front of her.

"I couldn't sleep."

Nas looked at Nuwa and smiled.

"Y'know, you're really pretty."

Nuwa quickly looked at Nas and saw him smiling at her. Was he being serious?

"Hah, did you hit your head or something?"

"I did, actually," Nas said, giving her a playful smirk.

Just then, they both heard a twig snap. Then another. That's when the strong smell of blood filled Nas' and Nuwa's noses. Nas sprang up and snarled loudly, standing in front of Nuwa to protect her. 5 wolves came out from the bushes with their heads high and tail high, snarling at the pair. They were covered in blood. Their gray and black coats soaked in blood

"I had a feeling that the famous pair wasn't gonna be with their pitiful pack," a large gray wolf said. His face was covered in scars.

"You're Alastor, alpha of The Aeron Pack" Nas growled, "You bastards started a war just for our land."

"Your land is worth fighting over. It is said when a god or goddess is killed on your land, the one who killed them is granted immortality," Alastor said, approaching Nas while the other four Aeron members stood in place.

"There is no god or goddess here," Nas said, backing up into Nuwa, trying to hide her.

"Oh but there is, Nas," Alastor said, a wicked grin spread across his scar littered face, "Behind you lies a goddess."

Nas was confused hearing this. Then it hit him.

Nuwa.

"Out of the way," Alastor growled.

Suddenly, Nas lunged towards Alastor and grabbed his throat, trying to crush it. The four Aeron members came to their alphas defense. The five attacked Nas as he fought to protect Nuwa. Nuwa got up and ran to help Nas. The seven fought for what seemed like hours. Nas did everything he could to protect Nuwa during the fight.

Nuwa was sobbing as she looked down at Nas. He was covered in blood. The pair had defeated the small group. Nas was terribly injured though. Nuwa begged Nas to get up and after a while, he did.

"Nuwa, love, stop crying. You look like a mess," Nas weakling said.

Nuwa cried harder, relieved that Nas wasn't dead.

"Take me to that place you wanted to take me to a few days ago."

Nuwa led Nas deep into the woods until they came to the big clearing. There was a beautiful waterfall and flowers everywhere. The sun was beginning to rise and birds started to wake. Nuwa led Nas towards a spot near the waterfall and they both decided to lay there. Nuwa nuzzled Nas and cleaned his wounds. Nuwa was unaware Nas wouldn't make it any longer.

"You're soul is beautiful, Nuwa. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me in this cruel, dying world. You're my everything. I'd do this over and over again if it means you get to live a long life. You shine brighter than the sun. No one compares to you. You're worth killing for. You're worth dying for. I'll never stop loving you, not even when all the universes cease to exist."

Nuwa was stunned. Tears formed in her eyes as her heart fluttered. She smiled as she looked towards the horizon, watching the sun rise.

She would soon find out those were Nas' last words.

Nuwa was devastated. She ran from the spot. Nuwa had cried for hours before she finally let go of him. She was now running towards her home; her pack. When she got there, she found everyone dead, slaughtered. No one had survived the attack. She felt her world fall apart. Both packs came to an end on that faithful night.

Over time, Nuwa began losing her memory as a way to cope with her trauma. She couldn't remember anything now. She started losing her hearing as well due to all the stress, depression and PTSD. All she remembers is a white wolf.

Nuwa had gone completely deaf and somewhat mute now. She was devastated at first, but after 2 years, she grew to find comfort in this new, soundless world.

On a still, peaceful night, Nuwa decided to go on a walk. She came across this clearing in the dense forest. There was a waterfall in the clearing and there were flowers everywhere. She got a strange sense of deja vu. Had she been here before? She decided to lay at a spot near the waterfall. She looked up at the sky and closed her eyes, the breeze gently caressing her face. All of a sudden, a name flashed in her mind. Her eyes shot open and she couldn't move. Her mind began flooding with memories from the past.

Nas.

Nuwa cried for hours that night. She screamed for hours. She felt her world fall apart once again.

That night, the gods went silent.
