Bearbiter had the bad habit of picking fights with bears. Which wouldn't be so bad if that's what the hunting party was targeting, but he tended to go off alone to pick these fights. He was brash, headstrong and confident - they'd say he was overconfident, but he was clever and often won the fights he picked. Plenty of bears had learned to avoid the pack's territory for fear of Bearbiter.

*During the lesson: Bearbiter leapt powerfully at Bentfang and went for the thick fur under her neck. Bentfang was faster and swatted Bearbiter away, growling that going for the underside of the neck is only for killing, not for play.*
*During the lesson: With the carcass tied to a straw string, Moss pulled it to simulate prey movement. Bearbiter stalked and pounced on the "prey" successfully, and began to tear it apart before he was scolded to be more precise and not let food go to waste.*
