Shadowcast is a bold and tactless wolf who always speaks his mind, even when it can get him in trouble. He is known to have a smart-alecky disposition, even when speaking to higher ranks. He is sarcastic and witty, as well as honest and good with words, and is a good friend. He has always been very close with Moonglow, showing his affection mostly through spending time with her, and he accepts Moonglow's affectionate gestures of sleeping snuggled up to him for warmth and comfort. Even in his busy and demanding role as a Scout, he dedicates as much time as possible to his mate and family, though as he has grown more dedicated to his role, he has been spending far less time with them then before he became a Scout.
