Panne is a rather aloof, solitary wolf who never expected-- or really wanted-- to be selected as the next Pack Leader. Yet Pale Sunrise's dying words were clear- "Panne is the most qualified wolf to lead". And so she does, to the best of her abilities, though it doesn't come easily to her.
