"Beware of the wolf that prowls the grasslands at night . His glowing eyes of unmelting glaciers, his pelt of auburn melting with the trees, and keep a look-out of his quiet footsteps, not even wind dares to announce his presence." 

So goes a story pretty well-known, and well-spoken between the pack's youth , about a mysterious wolf that joined the pack in one foggy night.

His rigid posture and  quiet demeanor reminiscent of a forever plotting nemesis drives the eldests among the pack on the edges of their fur, and children scurry away in behold of his presence. 

Nobody knows the motive of his arrival, nor the reason behind Basil's willingness to take him under his feathers. The only thing they know is that this wolf is staying here, presumably until the end of his life.
