Weaving lines of dry grass stretched far across the low rolling hills. Crusty brown earth, complimented by crunchy brown plants. Withered leaves and old husks of trees a reminder of what used to be. Gray clouds crept across the sky, hiding away the sun and the moon and the stars.

Autumn Hymn knows this isn't how it always was. It wasn't exactly a paradise oasis before, but it used to be greener at the very least. Birds used to nest in the now fallen trees, bugs skittered through the now sharp edged grasses. There used to be a pond of water were that large cracked stretch of dirt to the west now sits, empty and sad.

The prophet told her to come here. They told her to find the fracture and heal it closed. She honestly didn't know what that was supposed to mean. Autumn Hymn wasn't a mystic or shaman or cleric or anything of the sort. She was a hunter, strong of body and will, not of magic and spirit.

But the white wolf had insisted. They were given the title prophet for a reason.

If only Autumn Hymn knew her own reason for being here.
