Paeta was going to kill her.

Or else, she wanted to. Auska thought she could get away with crawling next to Teho when Paeta was away...she'd show her.

"Paeta!" Teho patted up beside her, smiling wide. "Where are you going? Aren't we going to the meadow today to hunt squirrels?"

"Hunt them yourself."

Teho's ears went back. "What's the matter?"

"Nothing."

Teho's eyes softened. "You sound mad."

A rumble started to grow in her throat but she forced it down. She was angry at Auska, not Teho. Teho would never try to hurt her. She knew that.

Images of the two of them cuddling into one another's fur as the icy wet from the river she'd swam through to save him when last winter flashed through Paeta's mind. Teho wouldn't notice Auska was charming him unless she told him so directly. But maybe even then he'd think she was joking. Just like he thought Paeta was always joking. 

Grr...

Well. Today. Today she would make him see. 

(She successfully won Teho and chased Auska away lol)
