Adolpha

Adolpha was surprised to see the purple coated Alpha walking toward her mother with the last two of her oldest and trusted friends still alive in the pack.  Ruby and Jean were beginning to show their age and it was quite obvious that Accalia was starting to show her age.  She exchanged a few words about Apollo, Raven, and Koda.  Adolpha listened to the wolves banter back and forth.  She had heard the names of these wolves before but never actually met them.  The only name she noticed was Nita.  That was the wolf who had taken her to the bear when she hurt her paw along with Mystic.  The alpha mentioned Koda had come to Nita in a dream to talk to her daughter.  Said that it gave her pleasure that the next alpha was brought into the pack.  She was a wolf who paid attention to detail and her pelt matched the mighty Todd everyone had grown to love.  Adolpha realized that she and her mom had shared that pelt, but there were so many other wolves who had joined when Todd brought the pack to the prairie.  It could be her mom's best friend, VIxen who had left the lone wolf status to join in the pack.  She had noticed Rogue join the hunters lately she was held in high esteem it must be her!  But then there was also Kettu he was a strong fox pelted wolf who could easily rival Todd for strength when he grew up.  

Moments passed as the young wolf went through all the fox pelts in the den.  She chimed right back in to hear the second part of the Alpha's news.  The dynasty was not shy at the great howl tonight and we all heard our ancestors.  They concluded with.  "Turn to a fox pelt who sees black and white. Her father relates to the wolf who led you to the open-air through a ghost."  Adolpha is very strong, confident, and beautiful.  She carries herself in a way an alpha does.  Fiona, we know you left the pack a few nights to see if our life was for you.  While you were out there you met Adolpha's father....Todd says his dad was named Casper and that he had a brother on the plains. Fiona looked at the alpha her ears slid back.  "It is not polite to ask a female who the dad of her pups is.  For the good of you Accalia, and the pack, I will answer.  Her grandfather is indeed Casper.  I met up with Todd's brother on the plains.  We were long-time friends before the rogues got mean. Hrariroo is Adolpha's father."

The alpha grabbed Adolpha without even looking at Fiona and walked out of the den calling after her.  "Then it is time I appease our ancestors and name my heir.  I am at my final year now." With that she walked to the clearing setting down the young fox next to her, letting out a howl for all wolves who are able and can fill a role to meet for a howler.  "My pack, it was amazing to watch us grow from a mare 6 wolves up to all of use now.  It has been a great pleasure leading you in all of it.  Our ancestors spoke to me last night, my father included.  They told me I am in my final year as your alpha.  They have named my successor and starting from this moment, she is ranked second in the pack.  She will learn the ways of the alpha and when it is my time to join the great howl in the sky she will rise as Alpha and be able to hear our ancestors.  The pack will thrive with Adolpha daughter of Fiona and our very own Todd's bother,  Hrarioo.  I approve the choice of the dynasty and pass down the flowers and necklace of the Alpha."  Adolpha felt eyes on her, but she sat up straight not letting any of the wolves see her wavier or tremble under the embarrassment.  The howls of I accept the future started to die down as the old alpha took the puppy from the clearing and the two disappeared into the elder den.  "your new role starts now.  You will no longer sleep with the puppies in the puppy den.  You sleep and learn with me in our den,"

She couldn't believe it the night of the starry hill had arrived.  She looked to her one side seeing for the first time how old and run-down Accalia looked.  She had always seen this wolf as unshakable and powerful, but it had not surprised anyone in the pack when she had announced it was time to go to the starry hill.  She had spent her whole puppyhood in the alpha den with Accalia and this pack was foretold to be hers.  She looked to her left and was snapped back to reality to see her den mate Czarina.  She hadn't been born into the pack but had been in long enough to gain the respect of the other pups in the den and the elders with her grace, power, and strong wit.  It was not even 3 nights ago that a second prophecy foretold that this pack would belong to Czarina.  She felt cheated, but in a way, she knows that the other wolf deserved to make her claim after hearing out Kettu and Nita.  She wasn't anywhere near ready to fight this strong fox-eyed pup if the great howl named her as the alpha. Question was....would Czarina fight to the death if she was named alpha. It was time and Accalia started out by speaking a rhyme that she had heard in her other travels up here. As she had done so many times before she allowed Accalia to howl first and joined in a few moments later.  Her fur stood on end as the three wolves howled in the chorus and laid down to sleep and listen to the pack elders.  A good time had passed when she had awoken her heart froze when she realized that Accalia was still and lifeless.  The dynasty hadn't spoken to her. Czarina walked out of the woods at the bottom of the starry hill.  Her sleek onyx coat shimmered against the moonlight and she looked even more powerful than the young wolf that had left.  Her neck bore a necklace that shone brightly as the moon to match a new crown with the same intensity.  "The wolves spoke to me...right in front of the new spirit of Accalia.  They had told me what to do and where to find these. Adolpha. I am meant to lead the pack.  Kettu and Nita weren't completely right.  She held up a few arnica's interwoven.  These were with my crown.  The pack is meant to have me in the lead and you to be my beta...help me out with the growing numbers of wolves.  The gaze of black and white meant you...mixed with my strength and Adolfo as well.  We are meant to keep the pack strong and balance each other. Adolpha, I speak these words on the starry hill so the spirit of Accalia and our ancestors can hear my choice.  Will you be my beta female?"
