Kaine

Handpicked by Alpha Rykenah for his antlers, which Rykenah saw as a gift and sign from the gods, Kaine was taken in by her to be the future leader of Saberpack. Though he was originally very smug and selfish, he quickly fell for a strong-willed female named Freyla whom he grew up with and often would put him in his place, whether with her words or her teeth, it did not matter.

As they grew older, the pair grew closer but Freyla would refuse his proposals in fear of distracting him from leading. As a desperate gesture of his affection, Kaine surrendered his right to lead and offered it to Freyla instead. Upon accepting, she immediately chose him as her mate and was given a gift from the gods when Rykenah passed onto the next realm. 

For many moons, Kaine held the title of the pack's breeding male and sired plenty of pups, until young Raunian challenged him to a spar and beat him, despite their difference in age and antler sizes. He often likes to tell the story with pride when asked about his scar.

However, Kaine is more than happy to simply patrol and scout out new territories for his mate now, and although he is often gone, he makes sure when he's home that he spends as much time as possible with her, and the pups who stayed within his pack, especially his son with Freyla, Brokr
