Natten✒️

Natten was named in honour of an older hunter male named Svarten. His mother, Skuggan, told him all about this male and how nice he was, teaching her how to hunt. Natten liked being named after a nice wolf! He also liked his mother. He also liked sleeping, and playing. He was a simple pup, to say the least.

When he grew older he would sometimes play in the forest of the outskirts of the camp. That is where he one day saw a charming female. He had never seen her before, but she was clearly from his pack.

The female was older than him by a few months, and so they stopped hanging out for a while. When she grew up and had her first heat, she was completely busy learning how to hunt. Natten figured she had just forgotten about him.

One evening by the fire, he overheard the breeding male flirting with a younger female, telling her that her wisest choice for her first heat was to breed with an experienced male (himself, obviously), instead of a youngster wolf. Natten felt his anxiety rise, he knew Korp was in heat. What if she chose someone else? He lost his confidence, and started staying away from her out of fear that she would reject him. When Natten became of age, he decided to become a scout and was barely home anyway. Sometimes when he came home late at night, she was lying in the cave, sleeping sweetly. Natten would sigh, seeing the female he had come to love.

"Hey!" Nattens ears immedietly perked up. He had been on his way to the glacier when someone shouted for him.

"Hey!! Natten!" He turned around and saw a black female coming towards him, "wait up, will you?"

Korp ran up to him and stopped just a nose length away. Her tail was wagging from excitement and Natten just noticed how much smaller than him she was. She was slender and short while Natten was more stocky built, now that he was an adult.

"Korp? Whar are you doing here?" He was surprised to see her so far from home

"Oh, a prey ran all the way to the taiga! I scented you though so I ditched the rest of the team after we caught the deer," she looked down "I miss hunting with you." The words warmed Nattens heart!

"Oh.. yes, it has been a while.. How have you been doing? Your pups must be born by now?" To his surprise, Korp laughed out loud and then looked confused.

"Pups? I have no pups, silly."

It turned out, Korp didn't want pups with anyone else but Natten! And in a few months, they were expecting pups together.
