Joined the pack at 8 1/2 months.

Gonna write some lore but long story short Pollen decided that if Songbird can take in any ol’ pups he finds in the wild so can she - less adopt-y than the group’s pups, Sparrow had a good relationship with his parents and simply decided he wanted to explore the world - and, well, it’s not often a friendly travelling group passes by. 

The pack probably pushes the idea of “you’ll have to pull your own weight” and “no one will coddle you” and “better prove your worth if you want to eat”... for about a week after Sparrow starts following them. Once they realize that he’s sticking around for good and very capable and willing to help in any way possible they very much loosen up - they were only saying it to try and scare him back home in the first place.

Breeze in particular does a 180 once they realize this kid is 100% ready to live off scraps and work himself to the bone - you’re just a pup dude, chill, frolic in a stream, wrestle with Oriole and Shrike little man we’re not actually gonna let you starve.
