Masknose

Mask Nose raised her muzzle and sniffed the air. She leapt up from the bed she's made underneath the bracken and pushed her head out. She'd smelled a wolf! A male-wolf!

She gazed around the clearing, but couldn't see the male-wolf. 

"Hi! How are you?" a voice came from behind her.

"Fine, until you tried to stomp my tail," she replied sourly. 

The wolf licked his chops. "Sorry." 

"I'm Mask Nose," she said, pretending she hadn't just been so rude to the superior wolf.

"I'm Moon Song." His tail drooped. "I was going to lead my old Pack, Shadow Whispers, but they got trapped by humans." He scowled the last words. "Will you join me?" he asked Mask Nose. "We can make a Pack and find other Packmates!"

Mask Nose tilted her head, amused by the young wolves inquiries and energy. She was just as young as him, but she wasn't this energetic. "Sure," she said coolly, even though she was bursting with excitement on the inside.

"All right!" Moon Song said, leaping forward to lick her face.

With a thump of her tail, Mask Nose let him.
