Biography
Names: Saucepup, Saucepaw, Saucerain
I did wish I had grown to actually get my warrior name. I sat, my head bowed, as I watched my sister and my best friend, Mintpup, sadly lick what used to be my sore, infected insect bite that our mother, Brownfeather, could not heal. Her mentor had been gone before she was ready and had not taught her how to do that kind of stuff. Moonstar was lucky she had learned from another pack after I died.
A very small wolf came up beside me. The wolf that had lead me here, Goldenpelt, had told me of all the wolves. Curled up together a little ways away from me were Brownbelly and Orangepatch, who had been the first one who died. Curled up by Tallpoppy was Greenwhisker and Hailbelly. Tinygrass had been all by herself. She became friends with me instantly.
"It's all right, Saucerain. They won't ever forget you. I can still see Foxheart talking about me," she said. "And my mother, Auburnfur does."
I glanced over, surprised. "Foxheart was exiled moons ago."
"Her and Sunwing should not have been chased. Love cannot be stopped," Tinygrass said. "If me and Shadepup were in love, the Pack of the Skies could not stop us."
I gazed at Tinygrass in surprise. She was dead, surely she can't be in love with Shadepup? I gazed down at him. There was much to love about him. We had always played with him right outside the nursery. Shadepup was gazing sadly at my body, but his mind was on something else. "Have you visited him in dreams? I'm pretty sure you have."
Tinygrass's eyes challenged mine. "Yes. I have." She sighed. "We played and talked. He kept talking about you, and how fun you were to play with."
I thought about Shadepup's piercing yellow eyes, and the way they had always gazed at her. "Can wolf ghosts even have pups with another real life wolf?"
"Yes," Tinygrass said. "I grew, gladly, and can have pups."
"You two are perfect for each other," I assured her.
"But it can never work." Brownbelly had heard us. She came up behind us.
"You can't stop me!" Tinygrass screeched and jumped down the rock they were standing on to go next to Shadepup.
I sighed and followed.
